On Saturday 17th August, Activities Co-Ordinator, Hiedie Roche, organised a fantastic family fete and BBQ for our residents
Although heavy rain had been forecast in the afternoon, the bad weather would not dampen anyone’s spirits; luckily the storms held off until after the BBQ!
We had fantastic music provided by the lovely people at Radio Wexham. On top of that the Salvation Army Brass Band performed for us as one of our resident’s is a lifelong member.
The kitchen staff did an amazing job of providing a buffet lunch and BBQ for guests as well With the help of staff and volunteers, we organised several stalls including a cake stall and raffle – prizes for which were donated by local businesses and staff. In total, family and friends were able to raise over £200 for our ‘Residents’ Fund’ - a fantastic achievement! The Residents’ Fund is used for activities equipment and day trips such as: entertainers, music, fitness and games, pub lunches, garden centres, visits to local towns etc.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all staff, friends and family that made this event such a success! Hiedie has many more planned for the future - we hope to see you there
