In March 2015, Greathed Manor was subject to an inspection by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) as part of its ongoing monitoring of care providers.
A number of shortcomings were highlighted in the report which followed the inspection and the content of the report became subject to a number of press articles.
We took the report very seriously as the health and welfare of our residents is always our highest priority. We recruited a new manager and made improvements in a number of areas in order to reassure the authorities of our commitment to providing a quality service.
In January, we were pleased to welcome back CQC for another inspection and we are pleased to say the home has been rate “GOOD”. This week, we received the new report confirming and commending the significant improvements that have been made over last 10 months.
I would like to thank all those who have rallied in the last 10 months. In particular, I would like to thank the residents and their families for their continued support and the staff at the home who have pulled together to make the improvements. Our thanks also go to the care professionals outside of the home who have worked alongside us through our endeavours to regain our reputation and standing in the community.
