I am writing in regard to my father Albert Etheridge who has been staying with you on respite since 14^th February 2012.
First of all, on behalf of the family, I would like to confirm that we would like Hilltop to continue to provide care for my father on a permanent basis.

Secondly, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for the care you have given my dad over the past four weeks.

As you know, dad came to you from Bescot Lodge.  When he arrived at Hill top he could barely stand, walk or dress himself unaided, Dad’s speech was slurred and his general health was poor.  He had a chest infection, a urinary tract infection and was being given Haloperidol to keep him calm as at Bescot Lodge dad had made several attempts to ‘escape’.

Dad had been unhappy at Bescot Lodge, had appeared distressed and depressed and myself and the family were really worried about what we felt had been a rapid decline in dads physical, emotional and mental health.

In the four weeks that dad has been at Hilltop, his good health has been restored.  He is now standing, walking, eating and dressing with very little or no support.  Dad seems so much happier now that he is being cared for by your staff and I would particularly like to thank Dawn and Scott for their kindness, compassion and total professionalism.  I feel as though you have given my dad back to me.

I also appreciate the warmth and friendliness that your staff always show towards myself and my family when we visit dad.  We are always made to feel really welcome and Hilltop has started to feel a bit like a second home to us as well as to my dad.

I appreciate that staff often come and go, but I hope hat the future will continue to see us all working together in partnership and friendship to ensure that while dad is in your care, he will continue to flourish.
